Section 12: PARTICIPATION
Students are expect to read assigned book chapters, articles, and handout for a given class AND watch video lectures for a given class BEFORE attending that class meeting. You should also be prepared to discuss the ideas expressed in readings and videos as well as your own interpretations of those ideas.

- Any students who miss two or more assignments will be dropped from the course.
- Students who can't approach, discuss, write about, or analyze ideas encountered in this course in a civil and inclusive manner, with respect for all, may find it difficult to take part in the course, and in rare circumstances may be asked to leave the classroom.
- Please do not disrupt the learning environment in class by speaking while others are speaking or otherwise cause a distraction, such as by texting or using a mobile device to surf the Internet. Dr. Saldivar reserves the right to ask you to leave class if you are not paying attention.
